Newbridge House and Farm is multi faceted and ever changing. From the gently undulating wild flower meadows of the Park to the stately grandeur of the Georgian Mansion, Newbridge Demesne truely is an experience for all ages and in all seasons. Families adore the 18th century working Farm and state of the art Adventure Playground, rounding off their visit with homemade treats in the Courtyard Tearooms. Enter the Farm via its 18th century cobbled courtyard and visit a vast array of animals ranging from the Shetland and Connemara ponies of the paddock, to the piglets, goats and baby chicks of the farmyard. We have over 100,000 visitors every year and the Farm is very popular with families. We are one of the few working farms where children can see pigs, and many other animals, reared in an environment where they can move about freely and express normal patterns of behaviour. We are very committed to the highest standards of animal welfare and to the preservation of many Irish and indeed rare breeds.
Newbridge House is exceptionally unchanged, preserved for future generations thanks to a unique agreement with the Cobbe Family, who have generously provided on loan the original furniture, pictures and other works of art on display in the main rooms open to the public. The Red Drawing Room is one of the finest Irish Georgian interiors and is home to the best documented 18th century private art collection in the country. A private apartment is still maintained for the family continuing a line of occupancy unbroken since the mid 18th century.

The Annual Newbridge Heritage Festival will take place on the weekend of September 11th and 12th. The theme of the event is 'Fingal through the Ages', and there will be displays covering various historical periods in Fingal right up to the mid nineteenth century.
Among the highlights of the show will be the North Irish Dragoons (http://www.nidragoons.org/) who are a group of equestrian enthusiasts drawn from both communities of Northern Ireland who aim to demonstrate, by a living history demonstration, the part played by Irish cavalry in key chapters of our shared history. They will also have a camp consisting of an officers tent, kitchen, troopers tents and a blacksmiths forge, and an operating cannon. Legion Ireland, the Roman Military History Society of Ireland, portray the Roman Army in the First and Second Century A.D. They portray all aspects of military life including the Legionaries, Auxiliaries, allies of Rome and even the civilians who were part and parcel of the Army and its entourage.

There will also be several displays from the middle ages provided by the Newbridge Heritage Society, including duelling knights, damsels in distress, an archery contest open to the public, and have-a-go archery for adults and children!
The event is open to the public and admission to the main displays in the Park is free. ( Some of the workshops including the Archery will take place in the Farm and the normal Farm entry fee will apply).
